Jo Ko is a ceramic artist born and raised in Oakland. Through her sculptures, she ventures into the unknown, breathing life into foreign beings and uncharted realms; shaping a new landscape where new myths emerge and unfold.

Her work is inspired from the natural geometry in nature and by carving into a new identity through building unknown ambiguous forms. Her surrealist style embodies the raw feelings of mortality and the unknown: vulnerability, strength, and resilience all erupting out.


Workshops and Teaching
Outside of her ceramics practice she also teach workshops at a local level. She teaches private lessons out of her studio in Oakland.
